I had a strange cat problem once. My cat would always love to sit outside among my group of orchids. Some days I would find torn orchids or orchids laying on its side after it was gently pushed, but I would never see marks on them.
Seeing the cat there annoyed me but I never knew how to handle the situation.
Finally, I went to the Orchidforums site and asked others about the problem. A few people had something to say, but I was looking for more. It wasn’t until I went to the Paw-Talk.net website that I really found my answer.
Paw-Talk is a great forum and blog site for the pet care person and the animal enthusiast. If I didn’t find my answer on the forum, I was still treated to a great blog filled with personal pet stories, animal adventures, and lots of tips on how to handle situations like a pet in the flower bed.
My cat may never stop heading over to the orchid bed, but I’m happy. I know how to deal with it now.

I have been growing orchids for 7 years now…well killing them at first, but really becoming successful within these last 4 to 5 years. My success wasn’t a result of the months of researching their culture, high tech fertilizers, or the eventual investment in a greenhouse. The secret was in a little clay pellet. |
