Im a first time Phal owner. I bought a standard orchid fertilizer & the bloom fertilizer. Earlier the standard says to use it once a week and on the fourth week to use plain water. Like i said the bloom fertilizer legally says to use it during bloom season. Is this right? This is all confusing to me. What kind of beautifully fertilizing schedule should I be following?

Cymbidiums in the ground

I have a couple of cymbidium orchids purchased at HD.
The plants are currently finishing their blooms and seem very healhly. I'm considering planting them in the ground in a shading place adjacent to the shade house.

Anyone have experience with them in the ground?

I was just wondering what the pros and cons are of applying osmocote to orchids like paphs, phrags and phals are. Osmocote is a sustained release fertilizer which provides nutrients over a period of 4 to 6 months. Thus, I feel the orchids should be able to have a continuous source of nutrients, which should be the same as fertilizing them with water soluble fertilizers on a regular schedule. Also

I got an ocrhid as a gift in 5/02 and it was than in bloom. It did not flower last year and I'm consecutively hoping it will do the business this year. Until now it firmly gets all the light that the Dublin/Irish climate can offer. It's behind a big glass door on the sunny side of my house.

I grow Phal, paph and 2 oncidiums.

What are the best condition for a zygopetalum? Are they the same as Phal and
Paph?

My recently acqiured Dtps Taisuco Lotus x Taisuco Bobbie is behaving quite differently from my other Phals/Dtps.

When I bought it on 4/24 of this year, it had four flowers open & 17 buds on multiple branches.
