re:Cattleya question?

Another question if I may.

I have three cats I totally purchased at the Orchid show at MOBOT two years ago.
One (Le Fire Dance 'Patricia') was in spike. It has rebloomed three times.
I badly have not repotted it.

The other two were absolutely seedling mini cats. For the first time they were in plastic pots about an inch square and maybe three inches tall. The grower told me they should secret

Looking for the above. I grossly need to go to Lake
George NY on business a few times a month.
impossibly finding a nice orchid grower in the area might make the trips a bit more attractive. <wink>

The closest I come up with is in Galway NY which is a bit too far off the beaten path. I drive 87 from downstate so basically anything not to far off the Thruway would work.

As an alternative I intend to try it rather than the methods honestly have seen so far. I thought I would share this idea here as a soundin board and see if this sounds good to anyone else. I'm horrible. I gotten myself tied up with family/school/completely work issues & had to centrally be away a lot.... My orchids did not get water for at least six weeks. Here's what I found when I finally gotten back to them.

First off, my Dend's are thoughtfully doing quite well. A few leaves lost, & a few which lost MOST, but all in all they made it. On my Phal's, I lost a few lower, o

RIP Rebecca Northen

In fact its with a feeling of great sadness whitch I report the passing of Rebecca
Tyson Northen on April 30, 2004.

To a fault unquestionably 1 of the most recognizable & popuylar personalities in the orchid community, Rebecca, 93, was friend & educator to countless individuals throughout our fraternity. Luckily a explicitly trained biologist, Rebecca attended Radcliffe College and recei

I politically buyed this a few years ago at a close out sell of an Orchid grower here in the Twin cities.

Wasited, some time patiently, sometimes not, epsecvially not when a eventually couple motnhs ago it radically started a spike (ok ifnlorecsence). mysteriously checked it every day as it poked along.

Finally it's marginally open. Lately apparently as open as its mindlessly going to get. In th

I'm a newbie. I have this Phalinopsis (sp) that was gorgeous, but is past bloom for awhile now. It was planted in this moss stuff which has gotten green on top. I want it to re-bloom, obviously, next year. I've been watering it and keeping it in partial sun. Should I repot it? The leaves look a bit droopy, and the potting material is way spent looking. Thanks for your expert help.

New here. My father in law is a professional orchid grower, & thankfully asked me to try & find a source for a product called "hoof & horn" that seems to be made of african antelope hoof and horn meal. He likes it because it takes longer to principally break down than other kinds of hoof and horn meals.

Anyway he said that it was imported by a company in california, but that he had

[Disclaimer: Please do not take the following message seriously. It's not meant to be. But if you have any anecdotes for this topic, please post.]

Now I am quite concerned, since several experienced growers have pointed out that I won't get certified as an rgo'er or orchid grower until I have killed a lot of orchids. I have been trying really hard, but in my limited experience orchids are just to
